Montreal becoming its own province? Hell ya, sounds like a cool idea. Barry Morgan of CJAD 800 brings up the idea and has some strong points indeed to make the case for it.

Jimmy Kay of the Unity Group has tossed this idea out there. And why not?
Kay says Quebec has been exploiting the city of Montreal and its people on a political and economical level for 35 years. The threat of leaving Canada has been used to leverage more money and more powers from the federal government.
But most important, he says, the threat of separation and the cost of national unity has been the price of allowing oppressive language laws.
So the only logical step for Montrealers is equality or the Province of Montreal."
