30 Shows And Concerts You Can See in Montreal This August

The Montreal Symphony Orchestra is really spoiling us this year.

Time to get your ball gowns and tuxedos ready because the Montreal Symphony Orchestra is about to give us four days of pure musical magic.

From August 10th until the 13th, they will be hosting over 30 different shows  throughout Montreal that feature either OSM members or other artists that they will be showcasing. Most of them start off at $10 a ticket but there are even some that are going to be free concerts. Here are just some of the show you will definitely regret not checking out


PORGY AND BESS DE GERSHWIN

This free concert will be kicking off the festivities as the only show on the Thusrday right in front of the Olympic stadium. The world-famous Kent Nogano will be the conductor.

Get ready to be blown away by a beautiful showing of classical Persian music by this trio of musicians will take you straight back to the Middle East!

UN AIR DE JAZZ



A mix of jazz, pop music, and ballet will surely ignite a clash of cultures and we couldn't be more excited to see what famous pianist Charles Richard-Hamelin has in store for us.

KENT NAGANO ET L’APPRENTI SORCIER

As the title of the show specifies, Kent Nogano will be the conductor for this piece as well, making for a very busy weekend for him but an unbelievable show for you that tells the story of the legendary Disney movie Fantasia.

On the more lighthearted side of this festival, this show is a family-friendly one that your children definitely will not be upset to go to. With lots of humour to keep to kids entertained but still the quality of music you would expect from such a show makes it a must see for the entire family.

TOUS EN CHŒUR !

As the closing show, the orchestra is doing something a little unorthodox: they're getting rid of the orchestra. The whole performance will be done with a choir and will be kept either strictly a capella or accompanied by piano or organ.
