What’s Open & What’s Closed In Montreal On Christmas 2015

It sure doesn't feel like Christmas and is right around the corner (maybe because the weather still makes us feel like we're in the middle of fall) but it is fast approaching. And as you complete your christmas shopping and other last minute errands, it's always good to know how much time you have before it's actually too late.

So here's the official list of what's open/closed on Christmas day.

What's Closed

Banks 

Government offices 

Canada Post won't be open or delivering mail. Privately operated postal outlets might have different hours; check directly with the outlet.

SAQ will be closed on Christmas. They open at 1 pm on Boxing day

STM: Bus lines will operate on a modified holiday schedule. Consult schedules at stm.info or call 514-288-6287.

Most grocery and retail stores will be closed

Open on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24)

La Banquise - until 2 pm

L'Express - 8:30 - 3 am

Open on Christmas Day (Dec.25)

Schwartz - 11:00 am to 5 pm

Gibby's - 4:30 pm - 9 pm

Chinatown (pretty much all restaurants)

Guzzo (all locations except Cinema St Therese 8 )

Pharmaprix - 10 am - 5 pm (only selected ones, check locations here

Parking meters and no parking signs will still be in effect throughout the holiday period.
