This Monday May 18th 2015 it's Victoria Day in Canada (or Patriot's Day in Quebec). While we can all appreciate having a day off, it can be a bit of a hassle trying to figure out what's open and closed in the city. To save you a bit of stress, we've come up with a list of what establishments and services you'll be able to visit on Monday.

What's Open:

  • SAQ

  • Most restaurants (call ahead just incase)

  • Shopping malls

  • Grocery stores

  • Markets

  • Service-based businesses (eg. gas stations, hair dressers)

  • Movie Theatres

  • Biodome, Botanical Gardens, Insectarium, Science Centre, Planetarium

  • Parking meters (uhg, gross)

  • Garbage pickups

  • Public transit (but following a weekend schedule)

  • Montreal Casino

  • La Ronde

What's Closed:

  • Banks

  • Federal and provincial government offices

  • Post offices

  • Municipal courts and most city offices

  • Pointe-à-Callière Museum

  • Montreal Exchange

  • Costco

  • Public libraries
