You Can Now Buy Your Bread From A Horse-Drawn Carriage In Montreal

Now all we're missing is a milk man.

Remember the good ol' days when you were able to have a fresh loaf of bread delivered to your door by the baker in his horse-drawn carriage? Yeah probably not, but thanks to the Maison Saint Gabriel Museum, residents of Pointe-Saint-Charles will soon get to know what that feels like.

Every Saturday from now until the end of August, a restored, historical horse-drawn carriage will go door to door selling loaves of bread that have been specially baked in a traditional bread oven.

The loaves are going for $3.75 each, so it will cost you a touch more than it would have in 1900, but we're sure it's worth it. The carriage will start its route at 9am and finish around 11. If you want to be able to catch it, you can check out the planned route here:

And don't worry if you can't make it there in time. The bread can always be purchased at the museum's gift shop on Saturdays and Sundays.

Check out the Maison Saint Gabriel website for more info.
