Montreal is the third most expensive city in Canada for expats, according to a new ranking.

Vancouver is still the most expensive, Toronto is second, Calgary is fourth and Ottawa comes in fifth, but overall, Montreal still a comparably affordable place to live for overseas workers, according to this year's Mercer Cost of Living Survey.

Montreal Has The 50th Most Expensive Water Prices In The World

According to a study by the website Holidu, Montreal has the 50th most expensive water prices in the world out of 120 cities that were evaluated. 

The study looked at the difference in price between tap water and bottled water as well as the variations in water scarcity in each region. Compared to other Canadian cities, Vancouver has the most expensive overall water prices and Toronto has the least expensive overall prices.

A Report Says Montreal Rents Have Fallen As People Seem To Want To Leave Cities

Rents are falling in the country's three largest cities, according to a recent report from PadMapper, an apartment rental and lifestyle website. The biggest drops were in Toronto and Vancouver but rents also fell in Montreal, though it's always been cheaper to live here anyway.

In our city, median one and two-bedroom rents were down 6.7% and 2.8%, to $1,400 and $1,750, respectively, since the same time last year, the September report says.
