Canada recently suspended flights from India and Pakistan to prevent the spread of B.1.617, a COVID-19 virus variant that was first identified in India.

The ban came almost three months after the federal government ordered all travellers flying into Canada to provide a negative COVID-19 test before boarding, but international flights carrying coronavirus-infected passengers are still touching down in Montreal, according to the federal government.

Dubé broke it down for us on his Twitter account.

In total, there are three levels of risk that are used by public health to conduct epidemiological investigations and the tracing of infected or possibly infected people.
