Officially Quebec’s largest theme park, La Ronde is already well-known for its ready supply of thrills and family fun. There are hundreds of reasons to make them your go-to guys for summer entertainment, but 2017 is a particularly good year, and here’s why:

1. It’s CHEAP so there's really no excuse for you not to visit.
Let’s start with the best - while most theme park season passes will set you back several paydays, La Ronde is offering theirs at the super-low price of $49.99, which is a discount of over 65%. That’s right - for the cost of a fairly mediocre night out, you can get access to 40 unique rides that will leave you breathless in the best way. That's not all though. This year, there's a one-stop shop for all season passes which means no more line-ups at the gate!
2. They have an all NEW ride called Titan
Ever wanted to know what flying feels like? La Ronde’s brand spanking new ride Titan is just about the closest you’ll ever get while sober. Sending you 45m up above the park, Titan whizzes you along at speeds reaching a face-melting 112km per hour. It’s sure to satisfy even the hardiest of thrill-seekers.
3. Because everyone's favourite ride is back in a whole other way
One of La Ronde’s most popular rides,Vampire has gone full Missy Elliot and put its thing down, flipped it and reversed it… again. Last year, the 50-mile-per-hour looping giant rollercoaster ran backward - now it’s back to its original form, sending riders on a twisting, upside-down adventure to give you a truly heart-stopping idea of what it’s like to be a (vampire) bat.
4. They've got new food concession stands that you absolutely need to try
Careering around in the air at high speeds is objectively awesome and when you're having so much fun, it can be easy to forget to fuel your body. Well, this year, there are several new food concession stands like Koko Curry, Rolopan, and Beavertails which are all near the Titan.
There's also a new freestyle Coca-Cola machine that allows you to fill up your sports bottle (bottles will be given out with a season pass). You'll also be able to get your chow on the regular classics at Jerry Mobile's food truck that will be on site all summer along!
5. Because you can score free tickets for a friend
Everybody has that one friend who is always seemingly too broke to do anything (in my social circle, that person is me). That’s not a problem for La Ronde season pass holders - they can bring a buddy to the park for free on certain days, meaning even your stingiest pals can get in on the fun.
6. Sneak peeks are available so you can see all the behind the scenes action
Ever wanted to see the guts of a theme park? Whether you’re just an intense superfan or just keen to get down and dirty with park machinery, groups of 15+ people can enjoy privileged behind-the-scenes access to park mechanics under the expert supervision of La Ronde guides. Tours take place before the park opens, so once you’re ready to start riding, you’ll be the first guests of the day. Talk about VIP treatment.
7. They're bringing back Goliath
Was Goliath your favourite ride last year? Good news - it’ll be making a return for the 2017 summer season. This is La Ronde's BIGGEST roller coaster which will take you right up to the sky and to a drop like no other. Basically, this ride is not for the weak.
8. And Phoenix!
Phoenix was another huge hit of 2016, and this year you'll get the chance to soar through the air all over again. Steer yourself to victory with the help of joysticks and a copilot, giving you control over your height and speed - so long as you can hold your own against the wind.
9. It's iconic.
La Ronde is such a gorgeous, classic part of the city's skyline for half of the year, it's easy to forget that it's actually a functioning theme park come summer time. It was built as part of Expo 67 and still offers some of its original rides, such as La Pitoune log slide and rotating aerial cabin La Spirale. La Ronde is celebrating its birthday along with the rest of the city, marking a full 50 years of Montreal theme park fun - if you've never made it down for a visit, this year is really THE year to do it.
10. L'International des Feux Loto-Québec
Even those of us with weak stomachs and no sense of adventure will be flocking to La Ronde this summer only to watch the ever-fantastic L’International des Feux Loto-Quebec. The legendary fireworks display will be returning for its 33rd run this year with a bang, with guest appearances from Olympic medalist Alexandre Despatie and acclaimed Montreal singer Ian Kelly.
If you’re looking for a budget-friendly way to get your kicks this holiday season, La Ronde is the premier choice for the Montreal-bound adrenaline junkie. The park will open up on May 20th, so make sure to grab your passes now in order to make the most of your summer and score yourself free parking, a complimentary sports bottle, unlimited visits, exclusive ride access and more.
