Grocery stores in Montréal, along with other essential Quebec businesses, will remain open this holiday season as part of Premier François Legault's two-week lockdown between December 25 and January 11.

According to Santé Montréal's data on COVID-19 outbreaks in Montréal, as of December 8, 38% of total outbreaks in the city were found in workplaces.

On Monday, October 12, three Montreal men placed a series of calls to the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) reporting a possible abduction in a car. After further investigation by police, it was deemed that three calls were connected and that there was no kidnapping.

The calls turned out to be a hoax about "mock abductions."

Due to their for their alleged misconduct in handling her harassment case late last year, a Concordia PhD student is filing two ethical complaints against five Montreal police officers.

Anna, which is the name being used in the official release and not her real name, went to the SPVM following months of harassment by a man, who she said made her feel unsafe. She claims that the officers involved ignored her, laughed at her and refused to offer her support.
