Data from Statistics Canada on the country's queer community revealed that as of 2018, there were approximately one million LGBTQ2S+ people in Canada.

Canada's statistical agency released the data on June 16 to create a "portrait" of the "demographic and social profile of Canada's diverse LGBTQ2+ communities" — however, much of the data "[focuses] on LGB Canadians (lesbian, gay, bisexual), since Statistics Canada has been collecting detailed information on these communities since 2003."

It seems like the only thing going around more than the virus itself is discussion around it. Here in Quebec, we are no stranger to having a multitude of beliefs and opinions, and conversations pertaining to how to move forward with the pandemic is no exceptions.

A study conducted by the Association for Canadian Studies, in collaboration with Leger, entitled "Quebec: Should the Vaccine be Mandatory or Voluntary?" looks into Quebecers' opinions on the issue, as well as the continuing tightening and easing of lockdown measures.

Montreal’s surging real estate market appears pandemic-proof, according to the Quebec Professional Association of Real Estate Brokers (QPAREB). The QPAREB released a report on Montreal’s real estate market on Tuesday, and both prices and the number of sales rose dramatically in October compared to the same month last year.

"With a historic 37% jump in sales in October, the Montreal CMA maintained a strong increase in sales and a substantial decrease in active listings in the outlying areas of the Island of Montreal," said Charles Brant, director of market analysis at the QPAREB, in a statement.

A new study by Université du Québec à Montréal's department of Sexology has found that one in three people have experienced some form of sexual violence in Quebec's college system.

The study, spearheaded by UQAM professor Dr. Manon Bergeron, also found that an overwhelming majority — 93.5% of students and school workers — did not report their respective incidents to the school.
