I don't exactly live the healthiest of lifestyles, but even I try to be careful about what I eat.

Luckily I'm not a big fan of soda, I never eat desserts or sweets, and I take my coffee black; so I avoid a lot of sugar throughout the day.

It's that time of the year again, the weather is getting colder, people are getting lazier and the snacks seems to be everywhere. Most of us tend to put on a few pounds during the colder months and we often equate it to the fact that we are less active, we avoid the outdoors and we're subjected to insane amounts of decadent holiday dinners.

I have to tip my hat to whoever managed to reinvent the poutine. As I've said in the past, simply adding new ingredients to a poutine doesn't create a new dish. The last person who managed such an incredible feat was  @EpicMook when he created the Tornado Poutine.

But now a reddit user has decided that topping fries with cheese and gravy just isn't good enough. So he litterally embedded cheese and gravy onto the fries themselves. Oh and did I mention that these are gloriously large french fries cooked in duck fat?

Being plus-sized has its ups and downs. On the one hand, the body positivity movement has come a long way. People are supportive of plus-sized bodies, plus-sized fashion is becoming more and more mainstream, and there’s now more representation (just look at the fabulous Tess Holliday).

On the other, plus-sized individuals still face an uphill battle, and unique challenges. So if you’re a plus-sized woman living in Montreal, then you’ve definitely faced at least one of these daily struggles.

Rice is an amazing food, it's so good you could eat a thousand of them in one sitting. (okay so that's not very impressive, but it sounds good) Rice is cheap, you can find it anywhere and it goes well with everything, but rice isn't as healthy for you as you might think. Even that innocent looking bowl of steamed rice carries 200 calories composed mostly of starch. The problem is that your body loves to turn starch into sugar and then into fat.

With Valentine's day approaching there's one particular food item that's getting even more attention than it normally does. We're talking of course about chocolate; sweet, sweet chocolate. But forget about all those high end, overly expensive chocolates, we're talking about the most popular dep chocolates, the ones you buy on impulse as you're leaving the grocery store. Ugh, there is nothing worse than having to sit down all day with your dress pants unbuttoned ‘cause you feel bloated. Or, when you’re fighting to stay awake mid-afternoon as you feel your eyes getting droopy because you just ate dinner for 2. Or, even better, you try to suck in your stomach when you’re walking through the boardroom as all eyes dagger on you. Please, we all know you’re guilty. I know, I am.
