This is the most Canadian thing you'll see today by far — Quebec police are warning the public that scammers are selling fake hockey cards for hundreds of dollars online.

The Quebec City police service (SPVQ) says that fraudsters are taking advantage of the most recent NHL first-round draft pick Alexis Lafrenière's likeness, selling cards from a pee-wee tournament he played in 2013.

The provincial government is allocating $15 million to improve the quality of health care services for Indigenous Quebecers, Minister of Indigenous affairs Ian Lafrenière and Health Minister Christian Dubé announced in a press conference on November 6.

The move comes on the heels of widespread outrage over the treatment and death of Joyce Echaquan, a 37-year-old Atikamekw woman who recorded staff at a Joliette hospital using racist and derogatory slurs toward her on Facebook Live.

At a press conference Friday morning, Premier François Legault named Ian Lafrenière Quebec's new minister of Indigenous affairs. He replaces former Minister Sylvie D'Amours.

Legault said he thought it was "necessary to give new life to [Quebec's] relations with the 11 Indigenous nations" in its territory.

According to his website, Lafrenière, the current MNA for Vachon, previously served as a member of the SPVM's media relations unit as a sergeant and later as an inspector.
