A woman from the Capitale-Nationale region took home $15,231,359 of an April 13 Lotto Max jackpot in Quebec — amounting to half of the total prize.
Liliane Fortin made history with her lottery winnings; it's the biggest prize ever won in the province at that particular lottery game with a ticket purchased online, according to an April 21 press release from Loto-Québec.

Loto-Québec said Fortin was emotional when she received a call notifying her of her win — the other half of the total jackpot was won in another Canadian province.
"I saw that it was true, that I had the winning ticket, and that the amount was what the employee had told me. It was incredible," she told Loto-Québec.
Fortin said she wanted to "wait a little" while before deciding how to spend her multimillions (save for purchasing a new pair of glasses), but she said that "spoiling her children, landscaping her home and travelling to Europe" are among her spending plans.
