What a load of blarney. On Sunday, the United Irish Societies announced Montreal's annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade had been cancelled due to COVID-19 for the second year in a row.

“At this time, the health and safety of the Montreal community is our greatest priority,” stated parade organizers.

Bad news for all of you that love the holiday season — Montreal's Santa Claus Parade 2020 has officially been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Whether or not you believe in Santa Claus, or if you even celebrate Christmas, the parade has been a source of joy for Montrealers and many people all over Quebec, who come to see the annual spectacle. This year would have been the 70th edition of the parade.
