The City of Montreal and Quartier des Spectacles are hosting free outdoor screenings of the next few games of the Stanley Cup Final in Montreal — including tonight's Game 3, which is sold out.

The site will host 4,335 game spectators, separated into three zones — Place des Festivals, Promenade des Artistes and Esplanade de la Place des Arts — with their own entrances and exits.

In a press conference on October 16, Quebec public health minister Christian Dubé confirmed that hospitals are no longer expected to reach capacity soon — and he said this shows red-zone measures are making an impact.

While the Institut national d'excellence en santé et services sociaux (INESSS) previously reported that hospital beds in Montreal and nearby regions were projected to reach capacity early next month, their updated data shows that is no longer the case.

New projections show that at current rates, hospital beds are not expected to reach capacity in the province in the coming weeks.

Projections from an October 7 report by L'Institut national d'excellence en santé et services sociaux (INESSS) suggest that some hospitals in Quebec — particularly those in Montreal and nearby regions — could reach capacity by November if the COVID-19 transmission rate remains constant or rises.

This includes hospitals in Montreal, Laval, the Laurentians, Lanaudière and Montérégie.

However, the report says hospital capacities could be adjusted to meet increasing needs.
