The City of Montreal is planning to get way more electric with a bold new strategy for the electrification of transport.

An investment of $885 million is earmarked for a huge three-year plan called the "Transportation Electrification Strategy 2021-2023." This action plan will "prioritize measures that promote the increase and diversification of the supply of sustainable, integrated, affordable and accessible transport, being at the heart of green and inclusive economic recovery," according to a press release.

Mayor Valérie Plante's famous Pink Line proposal is one step closer to becoming a reality thanks to an investment by the ARTM to study "a structuring electric public transport project to serve the Grand Sud-Ouest region and link it to the city centre."

In a Facebook post, the mayor praised the ARTM's investment in "the western branch of the pink line [...] with an initial envelope of $20 million."

Two travellers who allegedly entered Canada using fake COVID-19 test results have been fined huge sums of money, Transport Canada confirmed to MTL Blog.

Flying from Mexico to Pierre-Elliot Trudeau Airport in Montreal, the two individuals are also alleged to have "knowingly boarded a flight after having tested positive for COVID-19 within the 14 day limitation," according to the federal agency.

With all the places to see in Montreal, I think we can all agreed that it's a rather fabulous city. From the unique restaurants and bars to the countless things to do at any point in time, we are all fortunate to call this city our home. However, that doesn't mean that every now and again, we don't need to have a little escape from our day-to-day routine. 

Luckily for us, we can go on a trip to various cities of the globe without ever leaving Montreal
