On May 10, one of the world's largest technology companies, Google, announced its plan to acquire new property near Montreal, which will be used for a "future data center facility" — if everything gets approved in the process. 

Google described this potential new facility as "an important addition to [its] long-standing presence in Québec."

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Tuesday that American company Novavax will be producing its COVID-19 vaccine at a new facility in Montreal. 

During clinical trials in the United Kingdom, the Novavax vaccine demonstrated 89.3% efficacy in protecting against COVID-19, according to a statement on the company's website.

While some people may be upset by the fact that the provincial government doesn't want to give citizens both doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, one Quebec woman accidentally got one of each.

Antonietta Pollice, 97, who lives with dementia, was recently transferred between care facilities. Her daughter, Patrizia Di Biase, said the first facility, CHSLD Herron, gave Pollice a dose of the Moderna vaccine on January 7.

Pretty soon, a little piece of Montreal will be on dinner tables all around the country — and no, we aren't talking about poutine. Heinz Ketchup, the world's most iconic ketchup brand, is moving production back to Montreal after a six-year vacation and it needs people to help create a literal sea of ketchup. 

"The new ketchup line is set to begin operation in late summer 2021," the company said in a statement, and it expects to create 30 new jobs at its production facility in the Town of Mount Royal.
