The Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) is investigating after a 23-year-old man was found stabbed in a Ville-Marie alley near Atwater station, marking Montreal's 27th homicide of the year.

At around 8 p.m. on Friday night, a passerby called police upon noticing the man unconscious on avenue Hope near boulevard René-Lévesque Ouest, said SPVM spokesperson Raphaël Bergeron.

An investigation is currently ongoing regarding a body that was discovered in a garage of a private residence in Lachine Friday evening. Police are deeming it the 19th homicide in Montreal this year.

SPVM spokesperson Véronique Comtois confirmed MTL Blog that police were called around 7 p.m. on September 10 to rue J. T. Rathwell, near 30th Avenue, where the body of a 27-year-old man was found.
