An investigation is currently ongoing regarding a body that was discovered in a garage of a private residence in Lachine Friday evening. Police are deeming it the 19th homicide in Montreal this year.

SPVM spokesperson Véronique Comtois confirmed MTL Blog that police were called around 7 p.m. on September 10 to rue J. T. Rathwell, near 30th Avenue, where the body of a 27-year-old man was found.

Comtois said there were marks of violence found on the body, which led the SPVM's major crime section to go to the scene.

An autopsy will be conducted in order to determine the victim's cause of death.
