On July 19, anomalies caused by forest fires in Canada transformed the sun's and moon's usual colours into fiery red and tangerine.

According to The Weather Network, western Canada's active forest fires caused thick smoke to travel across the country, even reaching Newfoundland.

It could be difficult to breathe in parts of Quebec on July 11 as smog alerts and special air quality advisories have been issued for 10 areas.

A total of four areas are under smog alert — Abitibi, Témiscamingue, Lac-Saint-Jean and Saguenay — as "high concentrations of fine particulate matter are expected" and "smoke from forest fires in Ontario will cause poor air quality today," according to Environment Canada.
