About 20 Teachers At A School Outside Montreal Reportedly Had To Go Into Isolation

Now some students aren't in school because there aren't enough teachers.

Elementary and high school students had been waiting months for the start of the school year after a forced break. Now students in two grades at a Deux-Montagnes school are reportedly back home as their teachers are forced to go into isolation.

The Journal de Montréal reports that about 20 teachers at Polyvalente Deux-Montagnes in the Laurentians are in preventative isolation until September 4.

In an email sent to parents and circulated on social media, the school administration explains that these teachers have been in "close" contact with a person infected with COVID-19.

The resulting staff shortage poses "a major issue of human resource availability," according to the school.

Students in Secondary IV and V are on leave while the school looks for additional personnel.

The high school also said it is working with local public health officials.
