When it comes to Montreal pizza, we don't play around.
La Pizza Week has officially come to an end across Canada and a Montreal restaurant has much to celebrate. Following the week-long cheesy extravaganza, La Pizza Week participants voted for their favourite pies and a Montreal pizza took home the win.
Alto Restaurant's very own MACattack was voted the best pizza in Canada at La Pizza Week 2024, and we aren't surprised one single bit.
The Montreal pizza spot has topped the La Pizza Week winners list before, and with a brand new creation made up of a handful of cheeses, macaroni and cheese, bacon bits, bread crumbs and jalapeños, the MACAattack was a grand slam.
The pizza went for $21.95, which ain't too shabby considering its size, weight and generous amount of toppings. The MACattack also ranked as one of Saputo's top choices, which also included D.D.O's very own Pizza Spano's 14" Special Deluxe Pizza.
Although Alto was the only Montreal restaurant to make the top five in Canada, Pizzeria Chez Smith in Quebec City also earned some much-deserved recognition, landing third overall.
Considering the MACattack was such a hot commodity at this year's food fest, MTL Blog reached out to Alto to ask if it will become a permanent menu item and turns out… it will.
"The voters loved it. So we have no choice but to make it a permanent menu item," Alto told MTL Blog.
