Quebec's minimum wage is set to increase to $13.50 an hour on May 1, which — as a reminder — is Saturday. 

This is an increase of 40 cents or 3.1% according to the Retail Council of Canada. For tip workers, the minimum wage will increase by 35 cents to $10.80 an hour.

The Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Solidarity has announced that the minimum wage in Quebec will increase by 3.1%, or $0.40 per hour, to a total of $13.50 as of May 2021.

According to the announcement, this increase will affect 287,000 Quebecers, 164,700 of whom are women.

During a National Assembly of Quebec sitting on December 4, Minister of Finance, Éric Girard, said he and Jean Boulet, the minister of labour, are studying the recommendation for an annual increase in the minimum wage.
