The government has announced new rules for schools in Quebec's red zones. From October 8 to October 28, masks will be mandatory in all areas of secondary schools, including in classrooms and outside.

According to Education Minister Jean-François Roberge, an elementary school in Quebec City is closed due to a COVID-19 outbreak. The Sans-Frontière elementary school in the provincial capital found 25 positive COVID-19 cases after a massive screening. 

20 students and five staff members were found to be infected with the virus.
