UNIQLO Montreal has a "sustainability section"
The section is centred around three main pillars: planet, people and community.
This is actually the only sustainability section in Canada and one of a handful at UNIQLO locations around the world.

The company has been very invested in eco-efforts over the last few years.
So much so that denim production has actually decreased its water consumption by up to 99%.
The team even told MTL Blog that in November, UNIQLO will be releasing the classic down jacket with recycled products.
And one of the most popular items, the men's fluffy jacket, is made of 30% recycled plastic water bottles.*
One of the features of the section is the UNIQLO recycle box, where you can come and donate clothes to be given to local charities.
You can even bring old down jackets. The brand will take out the feathers, wash them and create new jackets for those in need.
UNIQLO aims to be part of the Montreal community
The company works with artists from around the world in its collections, and the Montreal location has spaces dedicated to showcasing local businesses and talent.
When you enter the store, there's a gorgeous section of floral bouquets, both dried and fresh, from Bell Jar.

In fact, anyone who went to Bell Jar's store from September 30 to October 18 probably saw UNIQLO products on display as a way to welcome the brand to the city.
The display will be on the first floor until November 15 and the company plans to continue to use the space to display other artists and businesses from around the community.
There's also an adorable kiddie section, filled with books from Montreal bookstores for when kids get tired while shopping with their adults.

Thankfully the store opened just in time for the chilly winter months and is stocked with all of the classic Heattech, AIRism and Lifewear collections.
