Last May, the Quebec government unveiled the outline of a new program supporting the training of 2,500 people in the field of information technology and communications. The list of training courses paid $650 per week is out and there is something for everyone.

Since July 1, it has been possible for people who have had to recover from unemployment due to the pandemic and for people who have not been studying full time in the last 12 months to register for one of the training programs of the Program for the requalification and the accompaniment in information technology and communications (PRATIC).

A new, government-sponsored IT training program is looking for applicants and will pay you for the duration of your training. 

The Programme pour la requalification et l'accompagnement en technologie de l'information et des communications (PRATIC) has received "an investment of $39.6 million over three years to support the training of 2,500 people in this sector of activity," the provincial Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Solidarity said in a press release.

The Quebec government's Groupe d'action contre le racisme just released its new report entitled, "Racism in Québec: Zero Tolerance." Outlining 25 action items that the group recommends towards the fight against racism and discrimination, it breaks down the needs and urgency of the lack of resources and accountability in the system.

Many have been quick to point out that the report is missing one key term in the discussion on racism: systemic.

On November 13, MTL Blog reported that gym owners in Quebec red zones were confused as they tried to navigate government regulations around COVID-19 rules. The main questions were whether they could continue training clients one-on-one and whether they could film online workouts alone in their gyms.
