C2 Montreal will unveil an immersive black hole experience this week and it's mind-blowing

The exhibition will also return in August.

Montreal's festival season is in full swing, offering nonstop events and endless activities for Montrealers and visitors alike. Whether you're into all-night music festivals or vibrant cultural fiestas, there's something exciting for everyone to enjoy in the city.

Taking centre stage this week at the Old Port's Grand Quay is C2 Montreal, a three-day experience blending business and creativity. Think TED Talks meets Cirque du Soleil, where masterminds and industry leaders gather for talks, hands-on workshops, and next-level networking. It's practically the destination for business brains and creative souls.

With an impressive lineup of showcases, discussions and collaborative sessions, one exhibition that is not to be missed is the Black Hole Experience.

C2 Montreal ticketholders will be able to dive (not literally) inside The Black Hole Experience (BHX), a mind-blowing mobile exhibition created by multidisciplinary artist Kelly Nunes, which was designed exclusively for Age of Union, the environmental non-profit led by Dax Dasilva, who will be showcasing the experience this week.

Housed in a 53' double expandable trailer, this 1000 sq. ft. exhibition features an LED tunnel that guides you to a mesmerizing black hole projection chamber. The journey begins in the LED tunnel, where lights and visuals transport you into a contemplative state, preparing you for the core experience. Inside the black hole projection chamber, you'll be immersed in a captivating display designed to evoke a sense of wonder and introspection.

Inspired by a "Black Hole Room" created for Dasilva’s Montréal home, BHX explores the themes of spirituality from Dasilva’s book Age of Union. It encourages visitors to seek light in darkness, exchange fear for curiosity, and find potential for growth in the unknown.

BHX also includes two antechamber rooms for waiting and exiting, with information about the experience and the Age of Union’s mission.

C2 Montreal is on from May 21 to 23, and tickets for the event can be purchased here.

Those who are set on visiting the Black Hole Experience this week can also catch the exhibition again in August. The BHX experience will return for Montreal's MUTEK festival from August 20 to 25.

Between then, the Black Hole Experience will touch down at two other Canadian events including Toronto Pride (June 28 to 30), and the Boots & Hearts Festival (August 8 to 11).
