You Can Get $1 Oysters & Free Bubbly At This Montreal Speakeasy Until The End Of September

It's "Thirsty Thursdays" meets "Buck-A-Shuck."

It's 2020 which means we could all use a pick-me-up by the time Thursday rolls around. What better way to indulge than with free wine and $1 oysters on the terrasse of a 1930s-style speakeasy

Every Thursday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. until the end of September, you can enjoy a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and as many buck-a-shuck oysters as you can handle at Le Speakeasy MTL, a prohibition-themed restaurant and cocktail bar on rue McGill in Old Montreal.

On a regular night, the same oysters would cost $3 a piece (or six for $18 and 12 for $32) so you can live the high life while saving some major coin — simply by choosing Thursday as your night out.

There's no shortage of places to get $1 oyster deals in Montreal. Or Thursday night drink deals for that matter.

So, other than the fact that this place combines the two — which is tempting in itself — what's special about Le Speakeasy MTL?

Le Speakeasy MTL is all about using ingredients sourced from Quebec, so co-owner Nicolas Delrieu said you can expect local oysters from places like Îles-de-la-Madeleine.

The menu is small but if your dining partner isn't big on oysters, there are other options for them — from mushroom ravioli to beef short ribs.

Initially, this deal was only supposed to last until the end of August, but Delrieu told MTL Blog they've decided to extend the offer.

"A lot of people are participating but because of our reduced capacity due to COVID, we also have to refuse many people so we want to give them a chance to come," he said.

Due to reduced capacity, reservations are required. Don't forget to mention "bubbles & oysters" with your reservation.
