A special weather statement from Environment Canada covering regions from Montérégie to Chaudière-Appalaches, including Montreal and Laval, says that an "unstable air mass" is poised to bring "showers and isolated thunderstorms" to the province.

Funnel clouds are also "possible," but the risk of severe weather is low.

Although the risk of severe weather associated with this air mass is very low, it is still possible that funnel clouds may be observed locally today.

In Montreal, there's a chance of showers through 8 p.m. on Wednesday with temperatures peaking at a relatively chilly 22 C.

Montrealers can expect more of the same for the next week, with a chance of showers every evening.

The Environment Canada forecast suggests Monday will be the warmest day of the week, with a projected high of 26 C.
