Quebecers Can Now Request A Fresh New License Plate Online If Theirs Is Damaged

And it's totally FREE.
Contributing Writer

Do you souviens when your Quebec license plate was fresh, new and wasn't peeling? Ah, memories.

Well, good news from the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) this morning: you can now order brand new license plates online. No need to head to an SAAQ location.

Just be sure to have your most recent registration certificate ready.

"If your licence plate is damaged or defective due to the reflective film peeling off, you can order a replacement online," according to the SAAQ.

And, it's completely free!

However, the service doesn't apply to those who have a lost or damaged plate or one that's old and unused.

Once you submit a request, you can't modify or cancel, so be sure to review everything before you submit.

And don't make multiple requests for the same plate — only the first one will be fulfilled and the others will be cancelled.

License plates will be delivered within 40 business days and you'll be ready to hit the road again!
