A slice of television history comes to life in a New York town just over two hours (warp) drive from Montreal. The unique location offers fans an up-close look at the "Star Trek: The Original Series" set. Complete with the engine and transporter rooms, captain's quarters, and the iconic bridge, it's a journey into the heart of the beloved show.

The sets were rebuilt using original blueprints and extensive research, following the dismantling of the original sets post the show's cancellation in 1969. James Cawley, a self-proclaimed Trek superfan, spearheaded the project, also incorporating original items from the show. Visitors can experience elements like the illuminated transporter pads, replicated to match the originals, and other props.

The tour also explores how filming techniques created the illusion of a larger spaceship, with interchangeable set pieces and strategic camera angles. For instance, a single hallway was filmed from multiple angles with different wall mounts to give the impression of an extensive network of corridors.

The main highlight is the bridge, complete with the captain's chair and a screen that faced many fictional challenges. Special events, including appearances by William Shatner and other cast members, add to the experience, offering fans a chance to meet the stars.

This destination is a must-visit for Star Trek enthusiasts and anyone interested in television history, providing an engaging and nostalgic journey back to the era of 1960s sci-fi innovation.
