Starbucks is gearing up for a holiday surprise that could make your next coffee run a little more budget-friendly. With the holiday menu set to launch on November 7, Starbucks Canada is also rolling out a change that comes as a nice little early holiday gift for plant-based customers.

Starting next Thursday, Canadians will no longer have to pay extra for non-dairy milk options like soy, oat, almond and coconut at the nationwide coffee chain. According to Starbucks, this move aligns with the holiday menu debut, meaning you can enjoy your seasonal favourites with non-dairy upgrades at no additional charge.

This shift comes as a win for many, as Starbucks says customizing drinks with non-dairy milk is the second most popular request, right after adding espresso shots. The coffee chain shared that more than a quarter of current Canadian customers who typically pay to make their drinks dairy-free will now see a price drop of over 10 percent.

Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol explained that this change is part of a bigger focus to "get back to Starbucks" and provide what sets the chain apart — "a welcoming coffeehouse where people gather and we serve the finest coffee handcrafted by our skilled baristas."

So, starting November 7, non-dairy fans can celebrate the season with a little more in their cup and a little less on their bill!
