Espace pour la vie's summer schedule is back, and it's jam-packed with activities at the biodome, planetarium and Montreal Botanical Garden, which celebrated its 90th anniversary on June 9.

During this summer's lineup, you can spend a weekend viewing turtles and Chantecler chickens, see new shows at the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium and check out photography exhibits at the gardens — all while snacking on some wild carrots and a sea buckthorn slushie.

There's nothing quite like watching the season change from winter to spring as the weather warms in Montreal and flowers begin to bloom. And, while the Botanical Garden is awesome, it's not the only place in the city to see stunning florals. In fact, there are many great spots around the city to see the flowers bloom for free. 

The Botanical Garden also costs $16.50 for Quebec residents. Again, no shade toward the Botanical garden (you're lovely and precious), but sometimes we want to enjoy the beauty of nature without having to pay for it.

The Montreal Botanical Garden reopened its outdoor spaces on December 17, so you can take a leisurely stroll through its wintery walking paths this holiday season.

The timing couldn't be better. With non-essential businesses set to close from December 25 until January 11, at least one of our most beautiful public places will be accessible to us, just as the city turns into a beautiful winter wonderland
