The long-standing dispute between Quebec comedian Mike Ward, Quebec singer Jérémy Gabriel and the Commission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse has reached the Supreme Court of Canada.

According to a statement, the Commission argued Monday that Ward "does not have the right to use humour as an excuse to make comments that denigrate, humiliate and ridicule Jeremy Gabriel based on his disability or the means to palliate his disability."

In a video published to Twitter on January 15, Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante urged the Quebec government to place a cap on high commission fees charged to restaurants using third-party delivery apps.

Plante cited Quebec's current COVID-19 lockdown rules, which force restaurant owners to operate solely through delivery during curfew hours in order to keep their businesses open.

The Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail announced Thursday that it had issued 11 offence reports to nine Dollarama locations in Quebec "for failure to comply with health measures." 

The announcement comes after the CNESST visited 68 Dollarama stores in the province. The commission also issued 124 "correction notices."
