Officials issued an Amber Alert in Quebec on April 14 for 2-month-old Wesley Labrecque, allegedly abducted in Waterloo at 11 a.m. by 22 year-old Xavier Labrecque, according to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

However, by 2:45 p.m., the Amber Alert was cancelled and the SQ reported that the child was found "safe and sound."

A new study conducted by the World Health Organization found that one in three women, roughly 736 million around the world, experience violence. And a team of McGill researchers, led by Professor Mathieu Maheu-Giroux, was part of the study.

The study titled, "Global, regional and national estimates for intimate partner violence against women and global and regional estimates for non-partner sexual violence against women" is the "Largest study ever conducted on the prevalence of violence against women," according to the university.

The Quebec Association of Proprietor Pharmacists (AQPP) has released new data on the use of antidepressants in Quebec during COVID-19 — and some of the findings are "worrisome," according to a press release published by the AQPP on February 18.

The association found that antidepressant usage in Quebecers aged 18 to 34 increased by 9.5% from 2019 to 2020. It also found a "considerable increase" in new antidepressant users aged 65 and over.

A new poll on behalf of the Quebec Student Union found that 81% of Quebec university students experienced high levels of "psychological distress" and struggled with mental health in fall 2020.

Marketing firm Léger surveyed 1,209 members of the province's university student community to "paint the most complete possible picture of the state of student psychological health" during the fall 2020 semester, according to a statement released by the Union on February 10.

The Amber Alert issued across Quebec yesterday, searching for Dayana Di Menna, 7, and Liana Di Menna, 2 from Terrebonne, was quickly cancelled after an officer found the minors 35 minutes after the alert was sent out.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) published a tweet at 6:09 p.m. on Sunday evening notifying citizens of the cancellation, stating "The missing child[ren] were located safe and sound."
