Just how much is the return of major league baseball worth to Montrealers? Nothing — according to the Canadian Taxpayers Federation. The group has put up a giant billboard outside Tropicana Field, home of the Tampa Bay Rays, warning that "Montréal won't pay for your new stadium."

The team has floated the idea of splitting its season between Florida and Quebec. The Rays president even announced — and then abruptly cancelled — plans to put up a new Montreal-Tampa graphic in their outfield.

The Stanley Cup is reportedly coming to Montreal — but only for repairs after it was damaged during the Tampa Bay Lightning celebrations in Florida. 

A photo posted to Twitter and shared widely by sports journalists and media outlets on Monday shows the Cup with a distinct dent on the bowl, inciting the rage of hockey fans across the continent.

Now that the dust has settled on the Montreal Canadiens Stanley Cup loss, Habs fans have pointed out that Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy's uniform looked suspiciously inflated in a post-game photo.

And since we all know Habs fans are the calmest and most level-headed hockey fans out there, the question is: did Vasilevskiy really use illegal goalie equipment or is this a nonsense complaint from sad and angry Canadiens fans?

The Montreal Canadiens defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday night to claim Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final. The series now moves to Tampa, where the Lightning, still leading 3-1, has a chance to win the Cup at home (as their mayor, Jane Castor, was hoping).

But those odds didn't seem to damper Montrealers' spirit after their team's victory Monday. Video footage shows a crowd of hundreds outside the Bell Centre celebrating the Canadiens' win.
