Côte Saint-Luc Is Hosting A Virtual Cat-Themed Variety Show To Help Its Homeless Felines

The event looks more fun than a ball of yarn!
Contributing Writer

It's become an event music-fans and cat-lovers alike look forward to every year. It's more fun than a ball of yarn, trippier than catnip, and it benefits a good cause.

And this year, it's getting a whole new look.

The Côte Saint-Luc Cat Committee’s annual benefit concert will go virtual this year with a variety show and a raffle.

People do not sterilize their cats and the overpopulation of homeless cats is out of control.

Côte Saint-Luc Cats Committee

In a press release, Côte Saint-Luc City Councillor Mike Cohen, who is responsible for animal protection, noted the evening will include performances from Nick Burgess (and his cat), Alexandra Cohen, musical quartet String Katz, and The Musicians of the World Symphony Orchestra.

Acclaimed standup comedian and cat-lover Andy Kindler will also be performing.

It all takes place on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m. and will be streamed on Facebook and YouTube.

A bunch of unique prizes are up for grabs in the raffle including a Ritz-Carlton Hotel package valued at $1,000, a dinner at Petros Taverna, a nine-piece comforter set, a handmade quilt from Moishe Campbell, items from Ben and Tournesol boutique, and more.

Tickets are $10 each and available for purchase via e-transfer.

The event will celebrate cats of all colours and stripes and also raise funds for Côte Saint-Luc’s ongoing efforts to control its feral cat population through its "trap, neuter, release, and adopt program."
