You Can Soar Through The Foliage On This Chairlift Ride In Quebec This Fall (PHOTOS)

You can't let fall go by without riding it.

Have you noticed a change in the air? That crisp scent is the first sign that the season is finally coming to an end. Soon the province will undergo a dramatic transformation as the green of summer washes away to reveal dazzling oranges, reds, and yellows. To get the best views of this colour show, head to the Eastern Townships, where Mont-Sutton is presenting a unique way to enjoy the foliage.

The famous ski hill confirmed to MTL Blog that its fall chairlift tours are returning for the 2020 season.

On weekends between September 12 and October 12, visitors will be able to catch a ride on the chairs to ascend the mountain and take in the spectacular views of the valley below, where the forest stretches out to the horizon.

Details are few, but Sutton says its complete fall programming will be announced soon on its website.

In previous years, the chairlift rides were part of a larger fall festival, which also included guided hikes in the forest, musical performances, and a ski gear sale.

There were food options, too, to fuel the fun.

In 2019, visitors were encouraged to participate in a photo contest under the hashtag #PurementSutton for the chance to win winter day passes for skiing.

Photos from the hashtag show just how stunning the views from the chairlift are.

Sutton isn't the only place in the Eastern Townships to enjoy the region's fall foliage, either.

The nearby Mont-Orford might have the best views in the province between September and November.

As Sépaq puts it, "hiking is definitely the best way to discover Parc national du Mont-Orford. It's the perfect way to get access to numerous viewpoints, which are said to be among the most spectacular of the Eastern Townships region."

And, if you want to make a weekend out of your leaf-peeping adventure from Sutton to Orford, there are also some campsites in the area with particularly great vantage points.

Get all the details on Sutton's fall chairlift rides below and stay tuned for more info.
