This news was announced by Premier François Legault in a press conference on May 25.

During this same conference, Legault said, "The objective is that by [...] Monday, June 7, all of Quebec goes into orange zone." So, if all goes as planned, Montreal will be moving into orange zone in a week's time.

In orange zones, indoor dining is permitted. The government's website states the rules of eating inside a restaurant in this zone as "A maximum of 2 people from a different address sitting at the same table, may be accompanied by their children under the age of 18. Occupants of the same private residence may sit together at the same table."
