One amazing, female-run Montreal business is celebrating International Women's Day in a way that's blooming with girl power — and flower power.

Lambert, a vegan leather company started by Mélissa Lambert in 2017, is starting celebrations a few days early by handing out free flowers to women all over Montreal on Friday, March 5.

Starting in Old Montreal and heading up to the Plateau, the team will be handing out flowers to any and all women they encounter.

It's a way to celebrate women from all walks of life and to thank the women that have made Lambert one of Montreal's most popular accessory brands.

Mélissa Lambert started the company while she was pregnant with her second child and was searching for a vegan leather maternity bag that was functional and stylish.

She ended up teaming up with a Canadian designer to make her own and has since branched out into backpacks, purses and more.

Talk about a mompreneur.

Happy International Women's Day, Montreal!

Editor's note: A previous version of this article's headline misstated the date of the flower giveaway. It has been updated with correct information.
