Part Of Montreal's Autoroute 40 East To Be Shut Down This Weekend

A large section of Autoroute 40 East in Montreal is set to close for the whole weekend.

In a press release, Transports Québec said that repair work on the pavement necessitates the complete closure of A-40 Est between exit 71 to boulevard Saint-Laurent / rue Saint-Denis and the entrance from boulevard Saint-Michel.

The repair work will begin on Friday, June 4, at 9 p.m. and is set to be finished by Monday, June 7, at 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured to the boulevard Crémazie East service road.

Transports Québec warns that "episodes of congestion are to be expected."

The recommended alternative routes are via Autoroutes 20, 30 or 440.
