The famous Starbucks Christmas mug collections are always eagerly awaited. And this year they've come with some extra surprises. In addition to the free reusable mug giveaway at the holiday menu launch, Starbucks is introducing colour-changing reusable cups this year.

The warmth of your beverage will change the festive mug from fir green to bright red.

It'll bring you back to your childhood of mood rings and colour-changing stickers.

In addition to being really fun and environmentally friendly, this 16 oz container has another exciting feature: it's sold at the low price of $4 plus taxes — a nice gift to give a loved one (or yourself) without breaking the piggy bank.

These cups are sold individually, but there are other colourful mugs for sale, too.

Sets of six mugs with changing, multi-coloured candy cane patterns are also available in Quebec.

The Starbucks holiday drink menu, including the gingerbread, eggnog and praline lattes, have been available to order since November 6.
