The blooms of the week at the Botanical Garden change often, but in this week's showcase, the gardens' blooms have culminated into what could possibly be the perfect mix of florals for early summer in Montreal.

This weekend marks the end of rhododendrons and columbines at the gardens — but peonies, annuals and tulips are still in bloom.

You can spot dainty irises and peonies in the Japanese Garden.

In the Rose Garden, multicoloured roses and mock oranges make for the perfect background to your afternoon stroll.

The First Nations Garden holds storybook-like water lilies for a tranquil escape without ever leaving the city.

Annuals and tulip trees can be found at the Reception Gardens, while magenta-hued Weigelas can be found in the shrub garden or the Arboretum.
