As a general rule, cool temperatures mean 1. pumpkin spice everything, and 2. a necessary trip to an orchard. Among the prettiest destinations exists a magnificent farm where you can pick apples and create moments marked by laughter and la joie de vivre. This is at Ferme Genest.

Located in the Saint-Nicolas region near Quebec City, just a little over two hours from Montreal, this spot is a must-go-to this autumn. All you have to do is put the address in your GPS and go!

The orchard hides an amusing forest that has several adorable swings attached to the trees — making for a solid photo op.

Other installations such as a giant trampoline and a track will make you realize that time truly does fly when you're having fun.

Another reason to visit Ferme Genest is to taste the legendary fresh and ultra-comforting apple and corn fritters sold for $6.25 on-site.

A good price for how tasty they are.

And, of course, you can get a nice big bag of tasty apples for your ride home.

U-pick apples are also very popular and among the available varieties, you'll find Melba, Jersey Mac, Paulared, HoneyCrisp, Ginger Gold, Cortland, Royal Cort, Lobo, McIntosh, Spartan, and Empire during the season.

This is exciting if you know your apples.

Some adorable farm animals, like calves and lambs, can also be found here and are sure to make you smile because of their incredible cuteness.

The owners reassure you that "They are fed every day, twice a day. A veterinarian comes to see them every month, more if needed. They receive a lot of love," which we love to hear!
