You Can Attend An Outdoor Concert On Mount Royal To Support Beirut This Weekend
The explosion in Beirut this month may have happened in Lebanon, but its impact and magnitude were felt all over the world. The concert planned for Sunday, August 23 was originally going to be on Mount Royal, but will now be held indoors at ARTHEUM, where there'll be a night of music and unity for the people of Lebanon.* Like with so many tragedies, music becomes a form of therapy and expression and a way to bring people together when they need it most.
From 2 p.m. until 7 p.m.*, you'll be able to see local bands, artists and DJs.

Not only is the concert for a good cause, but it's a great way to support local talent, too.
Live bands joining the docket will be Issa Karim, Sober Is Sexy Improv Band, Philipe Boily and Lea Keeley.
The DJ's who will be playing are Bleu Nuit, Nia and Anthony D'Urbano.
And the local artists include La Poète, Rik Rozé, Jo Cloutier, Sandrine Décarie and Camilleski.
The concert is free, but a donation box will be passed around collecting donations for Beirut.
To take it one step further, the federal government has promised to match the donations from Sunday's event.
The concert is organized by Purple Passion Studio, a project "to encourage movement as the best healing and strengthening form of exercise."
Purple Passion has also collaborated for promotional efforts with @mtlforlebanon, a page dedicated to Montrealers looking to support the people of Lebanon, as well as to support the Lebanese community in the city.
"We believe that there is no better way to raise consciousness and empathy than through art and music," Rania, co-owner of Purple Passion Studios told MTL Blog.
"It connects us all and reminds us of our human essence, which is to love and create."
The proceeds will go to the Lebanese Red Cross, as well as other organizations recommended by @mtlforlebanon.
