Emergency crews responded to "several calls" near 3 a.m. Friday morning reporting an "explosion" near the intersection of avenue Rome and boulevard Industriel in the borough of Montréal-Nord, according to Montreal police spokesperson Benoit Boisselle. 

A total of six cars, as well as two industrial businesses, were found in flames.

No evacuations were carried out and no one was injured.

The fire caused "considerable damage" to the vehicles and businesses.

According to the first evaluation carried out on the scene, it appeared that the cars were set aflame first.
