One of the many intriguing parts of our city is how many unique places live within it. From speakeasies to extravagant homes and hidden nature parks, our city is full of outstanding places to check out and this park is one of them. Located in the heart of the Saint-Michel Environmental Complex, Parc Frédéric-Back constitutes a "unique metamorphosis" that you need to see to believe.

This futuristic and almost alien-like park in Montreal is one of those places that you never knew existed and that you won't soon forget.

Its inception began in 1995 from a former quarry and landfill site, surrounded by a mesmerizing vast green space has now become one of the most fascinating locations in all of Montreal.

Not only does it feel like you're stepping onto a different planet but it has some cool secrets for you to discover.

The massive heads staring up at the heavens are hollowed out and big enough for you to lie within them and take a photo.

Or you can simply look up at the sky as you ponder all of life's deepest questions.

There are also white pods spread out, which are unlike any other structure in the area.

Instead of water, they fill up with gas from inside the earth and if you listen closely you can actually hear them filling up.

This is all part of the parks all new renewable energy system.

From a landfill to sustainable energy, this spot is one of the most ambitious areas around.

And, if you weren’t already intrigued, when the sun sets, the pods begin to light up with a glowing green light, which is the biogas being collected from the ground.

Surrounded by picnic areas, works of art, and gazebos for guests to enjoy, this unique experience is also beautiful.

To make this location even more avant-garde, it's also a zero-waste park, and to ensure the cleanliness of the site, visitors are asked to drop all their waste off at a collection point which can be found on the outskirts of the park.
