Montreal Is Reportedly Moving Into 'Orange Alert,' Along With 2 Other Regions In Quebec
During the past week, Quebec's COVID-19 case count has seen an immense rise in numbers. The biggest increase recently was 462 new cases in 24 hours on September 19.
According to Radio-Canada, now, "All indications are that the Montreal, Quebec City (Capitale-Nationale) and Chaudière-Appalaches regions will go on a moderate orange alert in the next few hours."

This news follows the government's announcement on September 15 that eight regions in Quebec were under "yellow pre-alert."
As shown in the graph above, regions that move into the "orange alert" will have to reduce private gatherings to six people and public ones to a maximum of 50 attendees.
Regions on "orange alert" would potentially also have to close down indoor spaces such as bars, casinos, restaurant dining rooms, gyms, and spas again, although Radio-Canada's report says the government is not planning for such to happen.
Minister of Health and Social Services Christian Dubé's official announcement about this matter is expected to be made at 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 20.
