Quebec's COVID-19 case count has now reached a total of 64,986, with 279 newly reported cases in the past 24 hours.

The Minister of Health and Social Services, Christian Dubé, said in a tweet on September 13 that "the situation is under control, yet concerning."

The graph that Dubé shared in his tweet shows that in four out of the past seven days, Quebec reported over 200 new cases.

In hopes of slowing down the spread of COVID-19 in the province, the Government of Quebec now allows police to fine "irresponsible people" who refuse to wear a mask.

Montreal remains the epicentre for the virus in Quebec, with a total of 30,436 confirmed cases as of September 12.
