Officials with Quebec’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) are advising the public not to eat a number of products purchased from the Montreal IGA grocery store, Les Marchés Louise Ménard, located at 865, rue Sainte-Catherine E.

According to a statement obtained by MTL Blog, the recall covers a range of items sold at this location up until August 4.

[The MAPAQ] advises the population not to consume the products indicated in the table below, because they have been altered in such a way as to make them unfit for human consumption.

The items, all sold until August 4, include:

  • various brands of commercial sliced bread,

  • various brands of rice, lentils, chickpeas, barley, and vegetable mix,

  • Terra brand exotic vegetable chips in various sizes,

  • Lundberg brand rice chips with sea salt,

  • BBQ wings,

  • "tender cold chicken," and

  • "cold chicken pieces," all three cooked on-site.

Customers who have any of these products "must either return it to the establishment where they bought it or throw it away," the Ministry says.

This is a precautionary measure and "no cases of illness associated with the consumption of these foods have been reported to MAPAQ to date."
